Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Ronald McDonald House at Stanford — our volunteers help families stay together! Volunteers are crucial in creating and maintaining a safe and comfortable home-away-from-home for families caring for critically ill children.
Becoming a Volunteer
Volunteers must be 16 years of age and older and be able to volunteer for 2-3 hours on a weekly basis for a minimum commitment of 6 months. Please read more about the application process and requirements when you register for the required Introduction to Volunteering session. We are very fortunate to have many people from our community interested in volunteering with us. At this time, we have limited available volunteer positions.
Here's how you can help!
House Support Volunteers
These positions will include working off a checklist to ensure that the house is well stocked and tidy, disinfecting and organizing communal areas, and sorting donations. This position requires physical activity and you may be required to be on your feet for the duration of your 2-3 hour weekly shift.
Community Program and Recreation Room Helpers
These positions will involve working in the activity rooms with children staying at the House. You must be willing to work with children ages 3-17 and be feel comfortable interacting with diverse communities.
We welcome volunteers who can offer pro-bono professional services for House families. Some of these services may include but are not limited to: massage therapy, haircuts, or yoga classes.
If you have any questions or want more information about becoming a weekly volunteer, please contact Monica Makela, volunteer services manager, at 650.470.6028.
